Statement of intention

Audio : I choose to use audio in my devised piece to have a greater impact on my audience and so that they could come to a better understanding of who my character was. For example I use a voice over of an interview of Susan Atkins 20 years after her arrest. Describing what happened that night at Sharon Tate's house. This set my the scene for my piece. The next audio I choose to incorporate into my devised drama was the song sexy saidie by the beetles. I choose this song because the beetles were a huge part of the hole 'Helter Skelter' scheme that Charlie believed in (hence the name) also Charlie re-named Susan as Saidie Mae Glutz, after the song so I thought it was be appropriate. After the song ends it transitions into my next audio which was a song Manson wrote himself about the valley of death, and it was the Manson family singing which tied in nicely to the moment I was trying to recreate of which Susan became apart of the 'family' and began to come under Charlie's control. The next audio I choose you use was the song helter skelter by the beetles. I choose this song to represent the murder because Charlie believed this song had a secret message in the lyrics that only he could understand and it was telling him to do the things he did.
